Triumph has unveiled its new cruiser, the 2010 Triumph Thunderbird 1600. And will be released early in this summer 2009.

The Thunderbird 1600′s engine capacity is a bridging the Triumph’s smaller displacement cruisers and the the giant Rocket III, a liquid-cooled 1599cc DOHC Parallel Twin fuel injected. With 103.8 x 94.3mm of bore and stroke it has at least 80 hp and 100 lb-ft of torque. To drive engine energy to the rear wheel are used a belt drive and six-speed transmission.

The chassis includes cast aluminum five-spoke wheels mated to a tubular steel frame and swingarm. Showa suspension components are sourced, 47mm fork up front and chromed spring shocks out back with five-position preload adjustable.

Braking for the new cruiser is dual 310mm with 4-piston Nissin calipers on the front, and a single 310mm rotor with 2-piston Brembo caliper. For best braking performance will be offered ABS as an option.

A 5.5-gallon fuel tank also houses the instrument cluster, with speedometer, tachometer and LCD display. Self-cancelling turn signals will be also utilized by 2010 Triumph Thunderbird 1600.

These Triumph cruiser will be directly competitor for the Twin Cam Harley-Davidson. Unfortunately the price has not been announced by Triumph.

190 HP powerful motorcycle combined with an art and the result is the 2009 MV Agusta F4 RR 312 1078. The most beautiful motorcycle in the world, F4 RR 312 1078, is a marriage of the F4 CC and the F4 R 312.

The MV F4 1078RR really proves its performance reaching 312 kph (193.88 mph) only in 6 seconds. The amazing performance comes from increasing engine capacity from 996 to 1078 cc. This refinement gives torque increasement from 84.7 to 91.4 ft/lb (115 to 124 Nm) at 8,200 compared to the previous 10,000 rpm.

Braking performance features Brembo racing that really used on race-going Superbikes, two 320 X 5 mm discs up front with one-piece monoblock radial calipers housing 4 pistons and 4 pads. Meanwhile the road-going version of Brembo brakes were used on the MV F4 RR 312.

As Luxury bike features high quality materials such as chrome-molybdenum steel tubing for frame and alluminium alloy for the rear single swing arm.

Suspensions feature the same as on the R 312: enormous 50 mm Marzocchi front forks and a Sachs “monoshock” at the rear as with the new steering damper inherited from the F4 CC.

The 2009 MV Agusta F4 RR 312 1078 comes with Racing Red / Silver; Pearl White / Gloss Black; and Black / Anthracite Gray but MV Agusta has not announced for the price.

Like other challenges in the past of beating whatever the opposition has had to offer, this new challenge has again called for courage, desire, passion, sacrifice, and investment from the “Team MV”. The goal was simple – to create the best sports bike in the world and any lesser result would have been unthinkable. The 1078 cubic capacity of the exclusive and much appreciated F4 CC has been repeated in the new F4 RR 312. The extra capacity has given both more torque and a silkier touch to the sheer power of the high revving engine. This is due to a series of refinements to the engine in those areas where such a thing was possible and the aim was simply to go beyond the limits imposed by a “standard” engine.

The RR 312 is not a machine to be bothered with limits or weak points and for this reason, only the best components that money could buy have been used.

The bike features the already well-known and developed frame that offers the same, much appreciated handling characteristics, solidity, and feel that are the trademark of the F4. Every single component of the machine has been analyzed and refined (where possible) to deal with the new power output that has now risen to 190 HP. It is in fact the new engine size that will bar it from racing in the current Superbike class. F4 R 312s will now leave MV dealerships for competition use only while the new RR will give true MV road-going enthusiasts the chance to put the latest machine through its not inconsiderable paces; open the throttle wide, lean hard into bends and see what she’ll do. We are convinced that every bike enthusiast, at least once in his life, wants to do exactly that.

The F4 1000 will still be available for the race track and will have all the same mechanical updates as made to the larger engine (slipper clutch, new gear ratios) as well as all the modifications made to handling components (brakes, new suspension) and will be homologated for both FIM STK and SBK.

Design – Italian Pride

Due to create beauty and perfection MV Agusta has design limitations for any product. Beauty must never be forsaken in pursuit of something else. According to MV’s way of thinking, this is the keystone around which a motorbike is built. Apart perhaps from a stroke of genius, fulfilling this philosophy calls more for design artists than for engineers. In Italy in general and, in MV in particular, just such a thing is possible. The F4 RR 312 is an example of this and adds to the pride the company has felt ever since the creation of the F4 that has been the most beautiful, long-lived and best-prepared “standard” sports bike ever made. Every line and every angle of the machine has been designed so as to create visual “special effects” involving all the senses with tailor made components, finishings, and games of light and shadow. The senses are further heightened by the new color schemes on the F4 RR 312. These are based on pearl white base, anthracite black and the traditional winning colors of silver/red. It is however attention to detail that makes a piece of machinery beautiful and, for this reason, MV has dedicated much time and effort to exactly that. New elements for 2009 include the new headlight unit and smoked screen from the F4 CC. Other aesthetic changes include decals and graphics not to mention changes made to the instrument panel, some of the plastic finishing components, the shock absorber spring that is now red instead of yellow and the tails of the four so-called “organ pipe” exhausts that are now stubbier and more sharply angled.

Equipment EBS and Slipper Clutch

The successful evolution of the F4 RR 312 lies to a large extent in technical refinements in comparison with the R 312 and includes the following:

New decals and color schemes
Smoked screen from the F4 CC
Smaller exhaust tail pipes with the end piece cross section resembling a “slice of salami”
New suspension calibration
Sachs steering damper from the F4 CC
Brembo monoblock (one-piece) brakes
1,078cc engine
Slipper clutch
New close ratio gearbox

The end result is a significant “re-tuning” of one of the most longed for sports bikes in the world that has shown fans just what MV are capable of throughout the recently ended season.

1078cc Engine

2009 MV Agusta F4 RR 312 1078 (F4 1078RR) gets increase engine capacity from 996 to 1078 cc achieved by increasing the bore from 76 to 79 mm. The cylinder head has been reworked to meet new specifications and features new 10 mm longer intake horns. Torque also increases as the effect from 84.7 – 91.4 ft/lb (115 to 124 Nm) at 8,200 (previous 10,000 rpm). The power output of the F4 RR 312 nowadays seems almost innocent, the words are but characters but, it’s there in black and white: 190 HP.

As regards the gear ratios, the first three gears are longer and this spreads the power output better at high speed and also serves to restrain the initial surge on take-off. First gear takes the bike to 87, second to about 110 and third to nearly 135 mph. The snarling roar it makes as it passes the pits has to be heard to be believed.

The second most important modification is the introduction of a slipper clutch that does not replace the EBS (Engine Brake System) but works alongside it. It is a mechanical slipper clutch system with ramps and roller bearings. The result is immense deceleration caused by backing off the throttle but it is progressive and thus allows the rider to pick better lines into corners. Having such an easy to manage engine improves a rider’s automatic reflexes, increases feel with the machine and makes riding it all the more satisfying. When really pushing the machine to the limits, the rider becomes more effective on both the road and the track, almost without realizing it.

Frame

Those of us who have only ridden MV Agustas know that the frame and engine performance are the F4’s strong points. Geometry, specifications, and sturdiness are responsible for the sensation of great stability that the bike transmits when being taken flat out around the track. These three elements are blended together in the choice of the material from which the frame is made – chrome-molybdenum steel tubing. The task facing the engineers at Varese this time was to try to improve upon what was perfect – the balance of a machine that was already beyond perfection. The performance of this frame had already more than satisfied in race meetings where it was able to make the difference on bends and under braking. The diverse riding styles of various riders made no difference whether they were smooth as silk or tended to treat the bike more harshly. In either event, the frame was a winner.

The rear swingarm is still a single swingarm – nothing has changed – neither the mold nor the section has been modified for this component. It is more than able to deal with the power from the new engine as are the other two main settings i.e. the degrees of rake and trail.

Suspension with New Sports Calibration

Sophistication lies at the heart of an “extreme” product and nothing must therefore be overlooked or left to chance. Even the smallest “technical” change can affect the overall “balance” of the machine. This means working very meticulously where perception counts as much as intuition. This is why the F4 RR 312 now has updated suspension calibration. The search for perfect balance has dictated that the forks and monoshock shock absorber behave differently to deal with the new power output. The components are the same as on the R 312: Enormous 50 mm Marzocchi front forks and a Sachs “monoshock” at the rear as with the new steering damper inherited from the F4 CC. These are professional components that have been prepared with infinitesimal precision and attention to detail so as offer a taste of what riding a race machine is really all about. The carbon nitride treated forks, apart from their aggressive, original color, improve sliding characteristics within the legs on the forks. Travel has been increased by 1 mm and is now 130 mm. To underline the race-bred nature of this bike, the monoshock is fitted with a hydraulic spring preload adjuster that can be easily and quickly reset with an Allen key. The hydraulic compression has two possible ranges of adjustment, one for high and the other for low speeds. These improve the behavior at the rear under heavy compression and when the rider encounters frequent changes in the road surface.

Brembo Monoblock Brakes

Brembo racing brakes are fitted to the F4 RR 312. This system is an exact copy of the one used on race-going Superbikes and has two 320 X 5 mm discs up front with one-piece monoblock radial calipers housing 4 pistons and 4 pads. The only difference between the “official” Brembo race brakes lies in the second dust cover fitted to the pistons for the F4 RR 312 for road-going use. This component serves to reduce wear on the brakes that certainly will not be serviced as often as those on a pure racing version.

Available Coloor Options: Racing Red / Silver; Pearl White / Gloss Black; and Black / Anthracite Gray

Piaggio MP3 range make theirselves a new class scooter. The MP3 500 came to US market in 2008 after MP3 250 and400. Although many owners of the Piaggio MP3 reported perfectly acceptable power with the previous model but some have been waiting for the larger engine versions-the Piaggio MP3 500.

2009 Piaggio MP3 500′s engine is a liquid-cooled Piaggio MASTER i.e 492.7cc engine 4-stroke 4-valve. With power of 29.4 kW at 7,250 rpm (40 bhp) and torque of 42.23 Nm at 5,550 rpm, it can run until 143 kmph. Meanwhile electronic injection system and starter with Electric (freewheel) with torque converter equiped this engine.

MP3 500 brings an electro-hydraulic tilt-locking system means there is no need to put the vehicle on its stand so parking is easy. Simply flick the lean-locking button and apply the parking brake. The system will operate at any angle, so you don’t need to find a level parking area. You don’t have to put your feet down at traffic lights, or worrying about maintaining your balance if you’re ‘vertically challenged’ due to the tilt-locking system.

The MP3 500 offers high end technologies, versatility, and practicality besides its powerful engine. The MP3 500 bring versatility with a large range of accessories, a 42-litre top box, adjustable windshield, hand guards, navigational system, leg cover, bike cover, soft tail bag for luggage and electronic alarm.

2009 Piaggio MP3 500 with Red and Demon Black colors are priced at $8,899.

The three wheel revolution progresses even further with the MP3 500. With aggressive styling and performance, the Piaggio MP3 500 is the three-wheeler for people who want to stand out. ‘Safe fun’ is no longer an oxymoron. Riding has never been this easy, enjoyable and secure. Two front wheels and a revolutionary parallelogram front suspension together with the new double ignition Master 500ie engine give the MP3 500 very racy performance while remaining exceptionally safe.

Design
The MP3 500’s innovative looks are striking. The front end of the MP3 500 has a decisive shape that expresses strength and character and hints at the incredible performance of the all-new 492cc single cylinder engine. The front two wheels are marked by a steel tube bumper with metal mesh inserts that give the vehicle a rugged look. The front design protects the rider and the mechanicals while putting the unique front suspension technology on display. Other touches are the sleek ‘naked’ metal handlebar and black ten-spoke wheel rims. The five-lamp headlight unit is not only striking to look at but highly effective as well; the two biggest lamps are equipped with off-road-style shockproof covers. The front fairing and front shield fairing offer remarkable aerodynamic protection. There is a wide, comfortable footrest panel behind the front shield fairing.

The tail design is stark and minimalist, a mix of plastics and tubes that picks up on the styling of the front with a very useful rear rack, while the wide, comfortable seat ensures total comfort for both rider and passenger thanks to its ergonomic design and negligible height difference between the two parts of the seat.

A thrilling ride
But there’s more than design to the personality of the MP3 500. The latest product from the Piaggio brand boasts top engine performance, ideally backed up by revolutionary running gear to provide astonishing ride quality. The Piaggio MP3 500 streaks away from traffic lights and takes all kinds of terrain in its stride, handling twisty mountain roads and long rides in all safety whatever the weather conditions thanks to its two front wheels commanded by an extraordinary parallelogram front suspension. This revolutionary technical set-up ensures impeccable road holding in all riding conditions, with stability and braking power that no conventional scooter can provide.

Technology
The steel tube frame conceals the powerful, reliable new Master 500 i.e. double ignition engine, a four-valve, four-stroke unit with electronic injection and liquid cooling. The capacity of the new Master engine has been upped to 492cc to obtain maximum power of 40 hp at 7,250 rpm and maximum torque of over 42 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The introduction of the twin spark system has also made it possible to optimize combustion inside the cylinder, with a reduction in noise and gas emissions. The result is a smooth, high-performance engine, very torquey at low and medium range rpm, that takes the Piaggio MP3 500 to a top speed of nearly 90 mph while fully respecting U.S. emissions standards thanks to the advanced closed loop injection circuit with a Lambda sensor and three-way catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe.

The engine’s power is skillfully managed by the sophisticated running gear. The innovative parallelogram front suspension’s tilt mechanism is composed of four cast aluminum arms, with four hinges fixed to the central tube and two guide tubes on either side of the parallelogram, connected to the arms via suspension pins and ball bearings. This means that the Piaggio MP3 500 is as easy to ride as a traditional scooter, while its incredible stability, especially when cornering and braking, comes from its two front wheels.

Standard equipment includes an electro-hydraulic front suspension locking system that keeps the MP3 500 upright without a central stand. This makes it extremely easy to park anywhere. What’s more, there’s no need to put your feet on the ground to keep your balance when stopped at a traffic light.

Optimal rear end stability is guaranteed by a 14” rear wheel with a generous 140/70 tire, while three 240mm disk brakes with dual-piston calipers ensure fast, efficient braking.

With its strong personality, aggressive design and cutting-edge technology, this three-wheeler is ready to ride into uncharted territory.

Engine/Drivetrain

Engine is a 1795cc liquid-cooled 52-degree V-twin that hammers out immense power.

V-twin engine features 4-inch cylinder bores and the largest connecting rods and cylinders Honda has ever made.

Advanced technology Offset Dual-Pin Crankshaft (see tech section).

The 41.4-pound forged-steel crankshaft uses bolted weights, reducing crankcase width nearly 2 inches and reducing crankshaft weight 8.8 pounds compared to a conventional one-piece design.

The engine mounting system uses carefully matched hangers and rubber mounts to eliminate unwanted vibration, while preserving the powerful character of the engine’s V-twin design.

Three-Valve Dual Plug Cylinder Head (see Technology Section).

Two iridium-tip spark plugs per cylinder for efficient combustion at all engine speeds.

Simple-to-service screw-and-locknut valve-clearance adjusters. – Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) (see Technology Section).

ECU provides individual digital 3-D fuel-injection and ignition maps for each cylinder, creating ideal fuel mixture and spark advance settings for superb rideability.

Unique dry-sump oiling system utilizes a closed crankcase design and places the oil tank inside the gearbox case. The result is a freer-revving engine for improved power and a lower engine height.

Radiator with cooling fan maintains consistent engine temperature for optimum performance and long engine life.

Five-speed transmission with carefully selected gear ratios for relaxed cruising and exciting roll-on performance.

Shaft final-drive system provides smooth, low-maintenance operation.

Chassis/Suspension

The engine’s power is harnessed by a massive tubular steel frame and gives the VTX a long, low, muscular stance.

Large 45mm inverted front fork provides 4.3 inches of plush yet responsive wheel travel.

Dual chromed rear shocks have 3.9 inches of wheel travel and feature an advanced internal valve system for a comfortable ride.

Linked Braking System (LBS) (see Technology Section).

Additional Features

Distinctive chrome hooded-headlight housing features a powerful 55/60-watt halogen bulb with a computer-designed multireflector for superb lighting in all conditions.

Tank-mounted digital LCD instrumentation includes a speedometer, bar-graph tachometer, odometer, A/B tripmeters and a clock.

Reliable 300-watt alternator.

Durable, maintenance-free battery.

2009 Ducati Streetfighter is essentially the naked version of the Ducati 1098 Superbike. The naked street legal of Ducati Superbike was introduced at EICMA Milan 2008.

2009 Ducati Streetfighter, its engine like Ducati Superbike, and 1098 cc, 90 degree, L-twin engine delivered 155 horsepower @ 9,500 rpm, and 87.5 lb-ft (119 Nm) @ 9,500 rpm. The Streetfighter’s engine features Marelli fuel injection. The air pumped through the 4-valve cylinder heads will exit out undertail twin stainless steel pipes which Ducati promises “sound as mean as they look.”

Wrapping the engine is a purpose-built trellis frame. Ducati claims the frame, large fork clamps and a longer swingarm deliver a chassis geometry special to the Streetfighter. 2009 Ducati Streetfighter’s chassis and single-sided swingarm are also as the Ducati 1098 Superbike.

Ducati Streetfighter’s suspension has Showa as standard and the same time make it different from Streetfighter S (with Ohlins suspension),upside-down fork up front and Progressive linkage with fully adjustable Showa monoshock at rear.

Ducati Streetfighter’s with top Brembo as the standard braking, double 330 mm disc monobloc on the front and a single 245 mm disc at rear. Meanwhile the 10-spoke light alloy wheels make it different from the Streetfighter S.

2009 Ducati Streetfighter’s price is $14,995 with red and pearl while color options. The Streetfighter wil be available in the spring of 2009.

2009 Ducati Streetfighter has also a special brother: “S” version. This special brother bike is equipped with Öhlins suspension, lightweight forged Marchesini wheels, carbon fiber parts and a street-going Ducati Traction Control.

2009 Ducati Streetfighter with its characters: naked, unwrapped skeleton, without fairing, agresif, and brave.

The Ducati Streetfighter is available in either red or sophisticated pearl white set against a black frame and subtle graphite grey 10-spoke wheels, meanwhile his S brother has colour either red or midnight black with carbon fibre front fender and cambelt covers contrasting superbly against the sophisticated bronze finish of the frame and 5 spoke Y-design wheels.
